The 2023 Midwest Ski Areas Association Tradeshow & Conference

Here. We. Go. As many of you might recall, the MSAA show is how we mark the beginning of the new ski season, and with the event wrapping last Wednesday, it is time to declare the 2023/24 ski season has begun officially.

Record-Breaking Event for MSAA

The MSAA or Midwest Ski Areas Association Summer Conference is always one we circle on the calendar as it is one of our favorite events of the year. Ski area operators, staff, and vendors traveled across the Midwest to Hue Heffner's former Playboy Club, now the beautiful Grand Geneva Resort and Spa.

This year's conference saw record-breaking attendance with over 460 attendees, matching another fantastic season for snowsports as the industry broke skier and snowboarder visits nationally for a third straight year.

As always, the sessions were extremely informative and left operators with plenty of ideas to implement for the upcoming season. But the networking makes this event shine, and this year was no different. From talking about beavers disrupting snowmaking operations to discussing all of the new improvements going in across our midwestern resorts - there was plenty to learn from all of our peers in the industry... and we may have drank them out of beer a couple of the nights ;)

Our Involvement with the MSAA Show

We were honored to produce a recap video for this past season that played before the President of the National Ski Areas Association, Kelly Pawlak, gave an excellent presentation on the state of the industry after another record-breaking season.

We also hosted a breakout session where we informed operators and vendors on some photography and videography basics.

MSAA is an event that we always look forward to, and this year's event did not disappoint. If you are an operator or vendor in the Midwest - this is a must-go event that always gives us a boost to start the new season, which, speaking of...

Looking Forward - A BIG 2023/24 on the Horizon

This season will be a BIG one for the Midwest and us here at Midwestskiers.com. Over the past few months, we have been developing new forms of content and building a brand-new office/studio. All to help continue to deliver the Midwest stoke you have come to expect from us. And since the new season is offically upon us - be prepared for new content dropping weekly starting next week and leading into the ski season. It's time to fire up the snowmaking webcams and prep the gear because the ski season will be here before you know it!
